Billbergia Hallelujah

Billbergia is a beautiful genus of plants in the Bromeliad family, native to southern Mexico, Central America, the West Indies and South America, with many species deriving from Brasil. They can be grown terrestrial or epiphytically and will put on a show with their multi-bract inflorescence when they go in to bloom. 

Billbergia, like to have water in the center cup, or funnel, where they drink from and bloom from.  Bright, shaded light and moderately moist soil is best practice and be sure to flush the center cup out with fresh water weekly.

Many harder leaf Bromeliads, such as Billbergia and Neoregelia, can be acclimated to full sun exposure and will sun stress in to stunning colors.
