Nepenthes ampullaria x hamata is a captivating hybrid pitcher plant that combines the best traits of two Southeast Asian species. This vigorous grower produces distinctive, squat pitchers with elegant peristomes and intricate venation patterns. The ampullaria parent contributes compact growth and abundant lower pitchers, while the hamata genetics introduce more aggressive trap development and a slightly larger stature.
Ideal for intermediate to advanced growers, this hybrid thrives in bright, indirect light and consistently moist, well-draining media. It appreciates high humidity and benefits from cooler winter nights to encourage prolific pitcher production. A striking addition to any tropical plant collection, Nepenthes ampullaria x hamata rewards attentive care with dramatic, unusual prey-catching pitchers that develop increasingly complex coloration as they mature.
