African Violets are a love and treasured family of flowering houseplants, more closely related to Streptocarpus than the original Saintpaulia species, native to Tanzania and southeastern Kenia, in eastern tropical Africa.
Now, there are thousands of hybrids and cultivars that can be found and collected. Here at the Jungle we grow hundreds of varieties of African Violets, including vintage, collector, variegated, Russian and Ukrainian hybrids and Miniatures!
Bottom watering is always best to prevent crown rot. African Violets thrive in an East facing window where they can take in the morning rays. Be careful, though, as strong sun, especially in the afternoon, can burn the leaves on a violet in just a few minutes.
