Pinguicula 'Weser' X agnata 'El Lobo'

Pinguicula ‘Weser’ × agnata ‘El Lobo’ is a distinctive Mexican butterwort hybrid, combining the compact rosette form associated with ‘Weser’ and the broad, softly colored leaves of Pinguicula agnata ‘El Lobo’. Its foliage is covered in tiny, glistening glands that capture small insects, giving this carnivorous plant both ornamental appeal and a fascinating way of feeding.

The parent plants trace their origins to Mexico: ‘Weser’ is a cultivated hybrid of Mexican Pinguicula, while agnata ‘El Lobo’ refers to a form of Pinguicula agnata associated with the El Lobo locality. This cross brings together cultivated and locality-linked heritage in an eye-catching plant for a bright windowsill or carnivorous-plant collection.

Provide bright, indirect light and an airy, well-drained growing medium suited to Pinguicula. Keep the medium lightly moist during active growth, and avoid feeding the leaves or using ordinary potting soil. Like many Mexican butterworts, it may produce different leaf forms as it shifts between seasonal growth phases.
