Norfolk Island Pine Care

Temperature: House temperatures of 55-85 are best. Warmer is ok, but Norfolk Island Pines are tropical and can not tolerate freezing weather.
Light: Being a tropical pine tree, Norfolk Island Pines prefer bright light to full sun.
Watering: They tend to be thirsty plants.  Be sure to keep the soil moist, but not soggy, and be cautious to not let it dry out.
Soil: A fast draining soil mix is best to use. A mix of organic potting mix, vermiculite and peat, along with coconut coir is a possibility.
Fertilizer: Fertilize every couple of weeks with a balanced fertilizer.
Re-Potting: Re-pot when needed.  Norfolk Island Pines do not like to have their roots disturbed, so use caution and repot every 2 or 3 years, unless it has grown out of its pot faster.
Air Humidity: These need high humidity and plenty of gentle misting
Propagation: By seed, or branch cuttings.
Grooming and pruning: You will likely find other Norfolk Island Pines that have the droopy nature you admire. Unfortunately, pruning is not an option when it comes to controlling the growth of this plant. ... Yes, you can cut back the branches so the plant fits better in the room but no growth is likely to result from the cuts.
